This course is designed for Patrol Officers and Investigators.  Students will first learn about video surveillance technology and how we perceive the recorded image.  Students will learn the best practices in properly obtaining video surveillance from various types of video surveillance recorders to obtain the best quality videos.  Proper handling of Digital Multimedia Evidence will be discussed which will increase the likelihood of court admissibility in criminal cases.  Forensic Video Enhancement software will be discussed that can be used to clarify videos and images for comparison and contrasting.  This will include hands-on training using 10 different DVR and NVR systems to extract video files.

Host agency will need to provide 10 computer monitors.

Students will need a laptop or windows tablet (NO IPAD) with internet capability.
